How many times do I do Prolon each year?

The amazing part about ProLon is it can easily fit into your lifestylle and is only a 5 day change to your normal life.

Suggested consumption by Dr. Valter Longo, head of the Longevity Institute at University of Southern California and Author of the Longevity Diet.

• If you have a health or metabolic objective in mind and want to achieve faster the metabolic and rejuvenative successes of ProLon, then you can do ProLon every month for 3 or 4 months and then do it once every 3 months to maintain the benefits.

• 2 times only per year for Healthy Aging (10 days out of 365 days!)

• 3 times per year for Healthy Aging and added Weight Loss (15 days out of 365 days!)

Some people do ProLon once a month for reasons that are in line with therapeutic effects of fasting that we are also researching and will launch under a dietitian guided program in 2023.

How should the Prolon program be used?

The diet should be used for five consecutive days, after which the individual will transition on the 6th day and then resume their normal diet. The program provides a meal card that recommends how to consume the items for each day, but each day’s items can be consumed in any order you wish, as long as you only eat each day’s items during that day (do not carry them over to the next).

What are the food pathways affected by Prolon?

While there are many different signaling factors in the “nutrient-sensing pathways” involved with cellular fasting, the 3 primary nutrient-sensing pathways that ProLon and fasting down-regulate are IGF-1, mTOR, and PKA. The process is complex, and each pathway can interact with other pathways, but in general, PKA responds primarily to sugar and carbohydrates, while IGF-1 is primarily responsive to protein (and more strongly triggered by animal protein), and mTOR is triggered by IGF-1 and amino acids. Sugar and carbohydrates (and to some extent caffeine) will activate PKA. These nutrient-sensing pathways all help regulate the cells’ growth cycles and stress-resistant “fasting” state.

What happens to my body during the fasting mimicking program?

ProLon provides the body with a scientifically developed, naturally occurring combination of macronutrients (fats, carbohydrates, proteins) and micronutrients (essential vitamins and minerals) designed to keep the body nourished while going through the rejuvenating process of the fasting state. 

WHAT HAPPENS ON DAYS 1 TO 5 ON MY PROLON FAST?

Day 1: Transforming to a Fasting State: Your body is transitioning to a fasting state and fat- burning mode, and begins preparation for cellular clean-up.

Day 2: Fat Burning & Ketogenesis: Fast Burning & Ketogenesis: Fat-Burning ramps up, contributing to the initiation of ketogenesis (ketone production). By the end of this day (48 hours), ketosis may occur.

Day 3: Autophagy Clean Up State: Cellular clean-up (autophagy) Fat-burning and ketone production/utilization continues and increases.

Day 4: Cellular Rejuvenation:Cellular cleaning/renewal & fat-burning You’re in the final stretch.

Day 5: Renewal & Change: Fast completed, cellular renewal continues beyond Day 5.

How much weight am I expect to lose?

While the purpose of the ProLon diet is to trigger rejuvenation, weight loss may occur. Everyone is different, and weight loss depends on a number of factors. In a clinical study of participants who completed a 5-day ProLon cycle once a month for three months, the average weight loss at the end of the study was about 5.7 pounds. This was primarily abdominal fat, while lean body mass was preserved.

What is the daily caloric intake during Prolon?

Day 1 has about 1100 calories (kcals), while Days 2-5 have between 700 and 800 calories (kcals) per day.

Take one (1) capsule with food.

TO BREW: Place 1 tea bag in a mug. Add boiling water and steep for 5-7 minutes.

TO FLAVOR ENERGY DRINK: Follow the instructions to prepare the Energy Drink. Add tea bag to the mix in the sports bottle. Steep the tea for as long as desired.


Spearmint Tea

TO BREW: Place 1 tea bag in a mug. Add boiling water and steep for 5-7 minutes.

2.) Add water to fill the entire 32 oz bottle and mix gently.

3.) Drink the 32 fl oz mix throughout the day.


L-Drink Orange Flavor

1.) Using weight scale, pour contents from this bottle into the large (32 fl oz) bottle provided, until remaining fluid matches your weight. Discard remaining content.

2.) Add water to fill the entire 32 oz bottle and mix gently.

3.) Drink the 32 fl oz mix throughout the day.

Take two (2) capsules with food.

FASTING MIMICKING PROGRAM - Mushroom Soup Mix

Add package content to 1 cup of water. Stir well to mix. You may adjust water volume to your taste.

STOVE TOP: Heat gently over medium heat in a saucepan. When boiling cook for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.

MICROWAVE: Uncover and microwave on high for 2 minutes. Stir and wait for 1 minute. Microwave on high for an additional 1 minute. Let stand 1 minute before serving.


FASTING MIMICKING PROGRAM – Minestrone Soup Mix

STOVE TOP: Open the package and pour the contents in a pot. Add 1 ¼ cups of water, stir and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 15 minutes. Set aside for 1 minute before serving.


FASTING MIMICKING PROGRAM – Minestrone Quinoa Soup Mix
